The Congressional Hispanic Leadership Institute (CHLI) is privileged to announce the appointment of two additional members of the United States Congress, Anthony Gonzalez (OH) and David Valadao (CA), to its Board of Directors.
The Congressional Hispanic Leaders Institute (CHLI) is deeply saddened by Wednesday's condemnable violence at the U.S. Capitol. It constituted a national tragedy and a shameful embarrassment for our nation. CHLI will continue to work toward equality and justice. We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive society. "One nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."
As the United States Mexico Canada Agreement (USMCA) is implemented, CHLI congratulates the Members of Congress, the Administration, and private sector leaders who played a role in this 21st Century agreement coming together.
Our organization has been honored to feature the positive impact this agreement will have at our Trade and International Affairs Symposiums.

The Congressional Hispanic Leadership Institute (CHLI) strongly supports a legislative path to permanent legal status in the United States for the “Dreamers” (including DACA beneficiaries) – individuals who were brought to the U.S. as children by decision of their parents.
The Congressional Hispanic Leadership Institute (CHLI) supports the people of Venezuela as they fight for their freedom and democracy. The policies of the Nicolas Maduro regime have resulted in extreme shortages of food, medicine, and other essential goods, and have led to a dire humanitarian crisis in Venezuela. In recent weeks the regime has unleashed violence against the Venezuelan people, leading to countless civilian casualties.
CHLI is committed to strengthening the U.S. Hispanic community by promoting the advancement of Hispanics in all sectors of the U.S. and the global economy.
This September 14th, CHLI will host its fifth annual Trade & International Affairs Symposium. The Symposium brings together international business leaders, experts on trade, members of the diplomatic community, and foreign and U.S. government officials to discuss issues that affect U.S. global competitiveness.
Over the past several years immigration reform has been a topic of many public and private discussions; those discussions will only intensify in the coming weeks as Congress and the President consider immigration reform. The policy implications, however, are not limited to the United States, as our country is linked to many homelands, cultures, and peoples from around the world.
